Two 7-Eleven stores in Changzhou, Jiangsu, have recently decided to stop selling Nongfu Spring, a decision that has attracted widespread attention from society.
On March 8th, a notice circulated in the Changzhou area of Jiangsu showed that the 7-Eleven Starlight store and the 7-Eleven Laimeng store would stop selling all Nongfu Spring related products. The shop staff confirmed that the stores indeed no longer offer any Nongfu Spring products.
This move immediately attracted public attention, with various speculations and discussions beginning to appear online. At the same time, the founder of Nongfu Spring, Zhong Shanshan, became a focus of public discussion due to certain controversies.
In the midst of the public storm, the brand image of Nongfu Spring has been affected, and on social platforms, some netizens expressed their intention to boycott Nongfu Spring and its sub-brands, including Oriental Leaf, Tea π, and Scream. Data indicates that it’s not only the brand image that has been affected; the daily sales amount and the number of popular promoters at its official TikTok flagship store have also suffered a significant decline.
Facing this situation, Jiangsu 7-Eleven responded on March 11th. They stated that the actions taken by the two stores in Changzhou were individual employee behaviors and should not be viewed as the stance of the company’s headquarters.
